"MARCH" Trilogy by U.S. Congressman John Lewis, Andrew Aydin and Nate Powell
While an in-person One Book, One Community (OBOC) event was not hosted in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the OBOC Committee did host a live virtual event in October. The live virtual event, entitled “MARCH” Forward, featured Comic Art Collection Exhibition by MSU Libraries and a question and answer session with special guests Andrew Aydin and Nate Powell. Aydin and Powell worked closely with Civil Rights leader and U.S. Congressman John Lewis to create the “MARCH” trilogy – an autobiographical collection of graphic novels about the Civil Rights Movement, told through the perspective of Congressman Lewis. Aydin is the co-author of the trilogy and Powell is the illustrator of the trilogy.
