One Book, One Coffee

2011 REGISTRATION IS CLOSED

Did you read "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" by Jonathan Safran Foer? Are you curious what others thought about the book?  If you answered yes, then the One Book, One Coffee program is just for you!

One Book, One Coffee will bring community members and MSU students together to discuss the 2011 book selection. Anyone who has read the book can participate and will be matched up with someone from our diverse community of MSU students, long-term residents and local book groups.

OBOC hopes this program will spark dynamic discussion about the 2011 selection. So, grab your book, register as a reader and let’s get talking!

What you do: To participate, REGISTER ONLINE or e-mail onebook@msu.edu

What we do: OBOC will match you with another reader via email and send you each other’s contact information. You can choose to be paired one-on-one or in a small group (no more than 4 readers).

How it works: You and your partner(s) will meet up at least once during the month of September and discuss the book. You can use our discussion guide or discuss other aspects of the story and/or 9/11 events. When and where you meet is completely up to you!  OBOC will be having a few sponsored nights for pairs to enjoy coffee at local coffee shops. Details of the sponsored nights will be forthcoming.
